TOV COMMUNITY

TOV is a covenant community learning to live the way of Jesus together.

Some experience TOV as a weekly gathering.
For others, it becomes a shared life—an ongoing rhythm of discipleship, friendship, and mission.

At its core, TOV is a Jesus-centered culture devoted to Scripture, deep community, and the tangible expression of love in the world.

“TOV” is the Hebrew word most often translated as “good.”

But biblically, it means far more than moral goodness. It describes the world as God designed it to be—life flourishing in right relationship with God, with one another, and with creation.

TOV is:

  • goodness that is alive and active
  • beauty that reflects God’s design
  • a life aligned with divine purpose
  • a people becoming what they were created to be

From Genesis onward, God speaks life into the world and into us.
TOV is our invitation to bring that life forward—through encouragement, teaching, service, healing, creativity, and faithful presence.

The TOV community is a discipleship culture. In the first century, discipleship was not a program—it was a total reorientation of life.
The early disciples were marked by:

  • devotion to Scripture
  • shared life in community
  • transparency and accountability
  • a willingness to leave former patterns behind
  • and wholehearted pursuit of Jesus

We are a people committed to a deeper walk with Jesus—an “all-in” way of life that places the Kingdom of God first.

This is the culture we are seeking to recover.

TOV is a community that seeks to become the hands and feet of Jesus in the world—walking in love, serving our neighbors, and caring for the hurting through everyday faithfulness.

TOV gathers in simple, relational rhythms that reflect the early church.

  • Summer: Saturday evenings gathered outdoors
  • Fall–Spring: homes, tables, and small group environments
  • Ongoing: Bible study, prayer, worship, and shared life together

We meet in spaces that allow us to know one another deeply and to live out discipleship in everyday contexts—not just on a stage.

One of the core values of TOV is covenant community.

We believe people were created to live in deep, faithful relationship with others who are walking in the same direction.

That means:

  • bearing one another’s burdens
  • celebrating one another’s victories
  • walking through real life together
  • practicing forgiveness, honesty, and faithfulness

In the first-century church, believers oriented their entire lives around this shared reality. While modern culture makes that difficult, the heart posture remains the same—to live as a people deeply committed to one another in Christ.

TOV is not only inward formation—it is outward expression.

As a community, we regularly come together to serve:

  • neighbors in need
  • the hurting and the homeless
  • individuals and families in crisis
  • local and global outreach efforts

We believe discipleship must become visible in love, generosity, and service.

At TOV, we are learning to live as one body:

  • sharing meals
  • praying together
  • supporting one another
  • using our gifts collectively
  • and walking faithfully through every season of life

This is not a program.
It is a way of life.

TOV is open to anyone who desires to pursue a deeper life with Jesus within a community that is committed to:

  • Scripture
  • covenant faithfulness
  • authentic relationships
  • and tangible love

Whether you are new in your faith or have walked with the Lord for many years, there is a place for you here.

Come and walk with us.

We seek to live out a first-century, Acts 2 vision of shared life and generosity.

Under the New Covenant, Jesus did not reduce giving to a percentage or a requirement. Instead, He calls His people into something deeper—a life fully yielded to Him. As a community, we understand this to mean that our time, resources, and gifts all belong to the Lord, and we are entrusted to steward them faithfully for His Kingdom.

Rather than creating space for God within our lives, we seek to recognize that all of life is already His. In the same way, giving is not approached as a set percentage, but as a Spirit-led stewardship of what has been entrusted to us.

At TOV, generosity is practiced simply and relationally.
At times there is a donation box present, and occasionally we share in a specific Acts 2:45 need within the body. Digital giving is also available for those who feel led. There is no pressure and no hidden agenda—only a desire to walk in obedience to the Spirit together.

Expedition 44 operates without salaries, mortgages, or institutional overhead.

What is given is directed outward—serving people in real, practical ways. This includes biblical counseling, food and grocery support, trauma care, transportation assistance, and other tangible needs as they arise within the community and beyond.

We seek to remain free from unnecessary entanglements—financial, structural, or hierarchical—so that generosity can move directly toward people and needs rather than systems.

While our primary allegiance is to the Kingdom of Jesus, Expedition 44 also functions as a registered 501(c)(3) organization in order to operate responsibly and transparently within our broader civic context.

A number of individuals have chosen to underwrite the few operational costs that do exist as patron partners, helping preserve the simplicity and outward focus of the ministry.

If you feel led to support Expedition 44 in this way—whether through a one-time gift or ongoing monthly partnership—you are welcome to do so below.
